Man arrested, bogus money seized

By The Associated Press wire report September 10, 2008 01:52 PM

Authorities say a Maine man has been charged with passing counterfeit money and more arrests are likely.

An investigation by Lewiston police and the Secret Service led to the arrest last Friday of 29-year-old Byron Smith of Lewiston. He's charged with aggravated forgery.

Law enforcement officials anticipate additional arrests. They say more than $14,000 in counterfeit greenbacks have been seized in the investigation.
