In a rematch of last year's Class B state championship game, Waterville defeated Maranacook 3-0 behind three goals by junior forward Renee Roberts.

Waterville, which defeated Maranacook 2-1 in the state final last fall, dominated most of the game, although the Black Bears evened out the statistics by improving their play over the last 10 minutes. Maranacook had two goals disallowed in the second half.

Waterville is 1-0, while Maranacook falls to 0-2.
