WATERVILLE $ Nikki Pickering scored three times as the Colby College women's soccer team beat the University of Maine at Farmington in a non-conference game on Wednesday.
Pickering came off the bench and scored her first collegiate goal off a pass from junior midfielder Meghan Edwards with 12 minutes, 14 seconds left in the first half. She scored an unassisted goal midway through the second half then scored with just 12 seconds remaining to seal the win for Colby (2-0-0).
Rachel Freierman stopped five shots to earn her second straight shutout for Colby. Mckell Barnes had 16 saves for UMF (0-1-1).
