FARMINGDALE --The Agway Hardware store will be holding a grand reopening this weekend to celebrate their business expansion under a new name: Agway True Value.
The family-owned hardware store has redesigned the shop to appeal more to a female demographic, said Steve Lajoie, Director of Operations for Agway.
"People who are doing the shopping are women, and a lot of women are doing their own handy work around the house now," Lajoie said.
Owner Brent Burger said between 65 and 70 percent of his customer base are women.
Aptly so, the grand reopening will open tomorrow night with "Ladies' Night" at the newly-expanded store, from 3 to 7 p.m. There will be seminars on winterizing a home, appetizers and a wine tasting, and door prizes.
Agway will also feature a "bucket sale" tonight. Customers are invited to take a five gallon bucket and will receive 20 percent off any True Value brand hardware they can fit in the bucket.
The celebration will continue all day Saturday with more home-focused seminars, prize giveaways, and activities for children. The Kennebec Valley Humane Society will be on hand to serve food.
