CLINTON - Police responded to a home invasion/armed robbery and a stabbing that both were reported early Friday night, Police Chief Charles Runnels said Friday.
Both incidents occurred on Wednesday but were not reported until Thursday, Runnels said.
The chief said that Officer Chris Parker arrested Matthews Stevens, 21, on a charge of aggravated assault after he allegedly stabbed his 13-year old sister. The girl, who Parker would not name, was treated and released from MaineGeneral Medical Center, Thayer Unit, in Waterville with a superficial wound to her back, Runnels said.
Runnels said that Stevens and his sister had been horsing around, and it escalated after the girl poked him with a stick at their home on Spring Street.
The chief said he would not release details of the armed robbery/home invasion because it is too early into the investigation.
