State police arrested two women and a man on drug charges after raiding homes in Thomaston and Rockland Wednesday.

Law enforcement officers said Thursday they seized more than $17,000 in cash, Oxycontin, hydrocodone, Ritalin, Klonopin and Suboxone from two homes searched Wednesday. Polce said the drugs had a street value of $8,000.

One house searched was on Pleasant Street in Thomaston and was occupied by Ruth Crandall and the other was on Granite Street in Rockland and occupied by Francis Scott, according to a state police press release.

Scott, 64, was arrested and charged with aggravated trafficking of Oxycontin. The charge was elevated to aggravated because his home is in a school zone, police said.

Crandall, 39, was charged with aggravated trafficking of Oxycontin. The charge against her was elevated because of a prior conviction of drug trafficking, police said.

Also arrested was Bethany Overlock, 38 of Owls Head. She was charged with possession of Aterol, possession of Flexiral, possession of clonazepam and violating conditions of release for a prior domestic assault charge.

Scott was released on bail from his house after his arrest. Overlook and Crandall were taken to Knox County Jail. Crandall's bail was set at $2,500.

The arrests came after police investigated the sale of hundreds of Oxycontin pills in Knox and Lincoln counties in recent months.

Officers from the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency, Rockland and Thomaston police departments and the Knox and Lincoln County sheriff's departments were involved in the investigation, searches and arrests.
