Hearing scheduled on piping plover habitat

OLD ORCHARD BEACH -- The Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife is proposing an expansion of piping plover habitat in the towns of Biddeford, Cape Elizabeth, and Old Orchard Beach.

A public hearing on the proposal will be held Sept. 18 at the Old Orchard Beach Town Hall. The hearing begins at 6:30 p.m.

If approved, the habitat designation willl extend .75 miles north of Goosefare Brook and more than one mile south from the Scarborough and Old Orchard Beach town line.
