CLINTON - A fire alarm malfunction prompted the fire department to evacuate students from Clinton Elementary School early Tuesday afternoon, Fire Chief Gary Petley said.

Petley said that students vacated the school at 12:06 p.m., and returned at 12:45. Seven firefighters responded.

A fire alarm company technician was on his way to the school to repair the faulty system, Petley said.
