WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. -- Brian Morrissey rushed for 116 yards on 35 carries and scored touchdowns rushing and receiving as Williams overpowered Colby, 28-0, in the New England Small College Athletic Conference opener for both teams.
Williams also gained 308 yards through the air, including a 64-yard touchdown pass from Matthew Coyne to Tommy Tysse. Nick Caro had nine catches for 131 yards and a touchdown to lead the Ephs, while quarterback Patrick Moffitt completed 19 of 28 passes for 244 yards. In contrast, Colby passers were 6 of 16 for 29 yards.
While Williams had 426 yards of total offense, Colby was held to 133. The Mules had the ball in Williams territory only twice in the game. The first time, Colby recovered a fumble at the Williams 27 and gained three yards before missing a field goal. The second time, Colby reached the Williams 47 before punting.
Dan Prunier led Colby's offense with 49 yards rushing on 14 carries, and Connor Walsh caught four passes for 29 yards.
