Jefferson victim ID'ed

JEFFERSON -- A Jefferson man who died Saturday after being struck by a vehicle has been identified by the Lincoln County Sheriff's Department.

The preliminary investigation indicated that Loren St. Cyr, 20, of Jefferson, was lying in the middle of North Clary Road when a mini-van driven by James McKenna, also of Jefferson, was unable to avoid him.

The accident occurred at 11:58 p.m. Members of the sheriff's department were dispatched to the accident. When members of the Jefferson rescue arrived on scene, they confirmed that St. Cyr was dead.

Sheriff Todd Brackett said is department is continuing with the investigation.

"It will be a few days before we know anything further because get toxicology report and things like that," Brackett said today.

Assisting the sheriff's department were Jefferson Fire Department and Rescue and the Maine State Police Accident Reconstruction team.
