A man killed in Jefferson Saturday night was struck by another vehicle before he was struck by a minivan, the Lincoln County Sheriff's Department announced this afternoon.

According to police, the preliminary investigation indicated that Loren St. Cyr, of Jefferson, was lying in the roadway when a minivan driven by James McKenna, 38, of Jefferson, was unable to avoid St. Cyr and struck him. St. Cyr was pronounced dead at the scene, and police are not saying when he died.
