Bonny Eagle football team forfeits game

By Tom Chard Portland Press Herald Staff Writer October 02, 2008 12:08 PM

The Bonny Eagle football team has forfeited its win against Westbrook because it used an ineligible player.

Suzanne Lukas, superintendent for School Adminstrative District 6, confirmed the forfeit today. She said the team used a player who was academically ineligible in the fourth quarter of last Friday night's 42-0 win over Westbrook.

Lukas said the player was a transfer student. The Scots, defending Class A state champions, were 4-0, but now are 3-1 with the forfeit. Westbrook goes to 1-3 with the win.
