The 74-year-old man who was struck Wednesday while operating his battery-powered wheelchair was listed in critical condition today at Maine Medical Center.

Portland Police identified the man as Raymond Wakefield, who lives in Portland, today after notifying his relatives about the crash.

The driver of the pickup truck that hit Wakefield on Forest Avenue, Michael Coffill, 26, of Portland has not been charged.

Police had to shut down Forest Avenue for about two hours on Wednesday so that they could reconstruct the accident.
