WINSLOW -- Winslow school committee will discuss possible changes in its athletic policy in connection with three football players who allegedly helped burgle scores of area automobiles.
Residents protested verbally and in print the fact that the suspects were allowed to continue playing. But school officials have said current policy does not allow them to remove students from sports teams as a response to criminal activity.
School Superintendent Hugh Riordan had said previously the target date for having a proposed policy change was Nov. 3.
But it appears that the item has been bumped up in priority. School committee chairman Ron Whary said the committee will consider possible changes during tonight's meeting, which begins at 6 p.m. in the Winslow Junior High School Library.
