The Westbrook City Council is expected to vote tonight on a proposed contract zone for the Stroudwater Place project after first holding a public hearing.
On Aug. 19, the Planning Board unanimously approved zoning changes to accommodate the massive mix-use project, which is almost as large as the Maine Mall.
The $300 million project would be near Exit 47 of the Maine Turnpike, between Stroudwater Street and the Westbrook Arterial.
The City Council is scheduled to have a preliminary vote tonight on the project. The meeting starts at 7 p.m.
If the project wins city approval, it also will need environmental and traffic permits from the state.
