BENTON -- A public hearing is scheduled for Monday, Oct. 13, at the Town Office, beginning at 6:45 p.m.
The purpose of the hearing is to discuss the town referendum for the upcoming November election: The referendum will ask if the town should establish the position of administrative assistant to the Board of Selectmen, to be filled as soon as possible.
The Administrative Assistant Committee recommends no vote.
A second public hearing will be held later on the same evening, at 7.
The purpose is to discuss the town's annual adoption of local general assistance ordinance and yearly appendices.
Both hearings are open to the public.
