A 10-year-old boy is recovering from injuries after his father's shotgun accidentally discharged while the pair were duck hunting on the Sabattus River.
Claude Bolduc, 52, of Bowdoin, reached down to pick up his shotgun from the bottom of his canoe at 9 a.m. today when the gun discharged, hitting the boy with pellets, according to the Maine Warden Service.
The boy's injuries were not life-threatening and he was taken to Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston for treatment.
The incident is under investigation.
