AUGUSTA $ A Portland man is charged with assaulting a police officer after allegedly kicking and punching two Augusta police Tuesday evening.

Trevin Magee-Fullam, 27, was charged with assault on an officer, criminal mischief and sale and use of drug paraphernalia after police responded to a report of disorderly conduct on Beverly Lane around 8 p.m. Tuesday.

Residents at the home asked police to remove Magee-Fullam. When police told him to leave, he tried to punch one of the officers, Augusta police Sgt. Mark Desjardin said.

In the process of arresting Magee-Fullam one of the officers was punched and another was kicked, Desjardin said.

Neither Officer Nikolas Hample nor Det. Tori Tracy was injured, Desjardin said.

Magee-Fullam was being held at the Kennebec County jail Wednesday evening on $540 cash bail.
