The Lewiston and Litchfield turnpike service plazas will both be closing in the coming weeks in anticipation of a new service plaza opening in mid-November in West Gardiner.

The Lewiston service plaza, at mile 83, will close on Tuesday.

The Litchfield service plaza, at mile 96, will close on Oct. 20.

At both service plazas, the parking lots will remain open and portable toilets will be available until the West Gardiner facility opens.

The West Gardiner service plaza is scheduled to open by Nov. 17. It is located on Route 126, just south of where I-295 and the Maine Turnpike merge.
