AUGUSTA -- Rescuers responding to an early morning crash today found an injured passenger inside the upturned vehicle, but no driver.

Augusta Police Lt. Kevin Lully said the injured man, Ryan Violette, 24, of Augusta, was taken to Central Maine Medical Center following the single-vehicle accident that was reported at 1:50 a.m.

Later, police located the driver, Joshua R. Violette, 21, of Augusta. He was arrested and charged with operating under the influence and leaving the scene of a personal injury accident, Lully said.

Lully said the driver apparently lost control of the vehicle and it flipped on its side.

He said the men are cousins.
