WATERVILLE -- A Fairfield man remains out on bail this weekend after Waterville Police Thursday night arrested him for allegedly threatening people with a splitting mall, police said.
Timothy Jurdak, 49, David Road, was charged with criminal threatening with a dangerous weapon, Felony Class C, and misdemeanor assault, Class D, police said.
Jurdak was released on $250 bail, pending a court appearance scheduled for Dec. 9.
Sgt. Daniel Ames said the suspect apparently was at a party in a residence near College Avenue when pushing and shoving matches began. Jurdak is said to have run outside and grabbed the splitting mall from the front yard.
Police were called to the scene. As the suspect ran down the street, Sgt. William Bonney ordered him to stop, and the man dropped to the ground, Ames said. Jurdak was arrested shortly before 8 p.m.
