Suspicious fire calls out Westbrook firefighters

By Giselle Goodman October 13, 2008 09:18 AM

WESTBROOK -- Firefighters here responded to suspicious fires in a couple of tractor-trailer bodies parked at a warehouse on Warren Avenue this morning. It was the same situation they had dealt with the previous day, according to fire officials.

The Westbrook Fire Department had the fire under control quickly and did not require assistance from neighboring Portland. There were no injuries.

The fire is considered suspicious because there is no power to the area. The trailers are used for storage only. It is in an industrial stretch of Westbrook with few residential buildings. Fire investigators are certain the fires were sparked by a human element. Police are helping the fire department investigate.
