BRUNSWICK -- Oxford Aviation has signed a letter of agreement with the Midcoast Regional Redevelopment Authority, enabling the company to expand to Brunswick.
The company, based in Oxford and Fryeburg, will utilize hangar facilities and the 8,000-foot runways of the Brunswick Naval Air Base to expand its operation. The company will use the space to refurbish larger aircraft than it can currently accommodate.
Until now, the company was restricted by the size of the Oxford County Airport and its 3,000-foot single runway.
In a press release, company president James L. Horowitz said he hopes the expansion will lead to the creation of up to 130 jobs within a year of its move to Brunswick. It currently employs 68 people.
