FARMINGTON # This Friday and Saturday, as part of the annual Maurer's Meals, area restaurants from Lewiston to Farmington will participate in raising money for the Justin A. Maurer Memorial Scholarship Fund, a University of Maine at Farmington scholarship program awarded to a 3rd or 4th year student in the Community Health Program.

Maurer's Meals promotes local agriculture, supports locally owned independent restaurants, keeps the landscape working sustainably and encourages healthy eating and making conscious decisions about food, health and the community.

Local participating restaurants are The Granary, The Homestead and Source 365 in Farmington; LaFleur's in Jay; and the UMF Food Service.
