An Otisfield man faces rape charges stemming from an incident in Naples earlier this month.

Cumberland County Sheriff's deputies arrested Thomas Nile, 24, of 49 Jugtown Road.

The sheriff's office said the alleged victim of the assault is an adult woman with whom Niles is acquainted.

Niles was arrested Tuesday while leaving work in Casco and was held on $20,000 bail. He had his initial court appearance Thursday in Portland District Court.

He is now charged with two counts of gross sexual assault and was free on $2,040 bail.
