Film shot in Acadia

BAR HARBOR -- One of Maine's most picturesque sites, Otter Cliffs in Acadia National Park, is the scene of a Martin Scorsese movie shoot.

A crane was at the site earlier this week to be used in the filming for the Paramount-Columbia movie "Ashecliffe," which is due for release next October. The thriller stars Leonardo DiCaprio, but neither he nor other cast members was there for the shooting.

The Maine Film Office says footage from Otter Cliffs is to be used for special effects in the movie. A remotely operated camera was attached to the 70-foot crane at the site to get shots of a stunt climber on the rocks.

Filming was scheduled to wrap up Friday.
