BRUNSWICK -- A Brunswick man faces charges of aggravated assault following a stabbing at the corner of Satinwood and Pleasant streets Saturday night.

Police charged Marquette C. Jarmuzek, 22, of Pleasant Street, just before 6 p.m. Saturday after a fight resulted in him stabbing a 24-year-old with a pocket knife, police said. The victim was taken to Parkview Hospital where he was treated and released for a small cut.

Jarmuzek told police he was defending himself after the man repeatedly hit him.
Jarmuzek was arrested at the nearby House of Pizza when one of the victim's friends, James Kempf, 33, of River Road, allegedly retaliated for the earlier fight, police said.

Police charged Kempf with disorderly conduct.
