Maine Attorney General Steven Rowe announced Wednesday that the state will receive $630,000 as part of a judgement that will require Pfizer Inc. to pay 33 states $60 million.
Rowe said the judgement caps a five year investigation into the drug company's "deceptive promotion" of Cox-2 drugs, Celebrex and Bextra.
Rowe said the agreement represents the latest victory for Maine people against pharmaceutical companies that market their drugs for use in an unsafe manner.
The agreement, which was filed in Kennebec County Superior Court, will also curb Pfizer's ability to deceptively promote its products.
