AUGUSTA -- Poverty, economic and food security will be the focus at a symposium on Monday.
The second annual symposium will be held at the Augusta Civic Center from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Maura Daly of Feeding America, a national group that works with food banks, and Nicole Witherbee of the Maine Center for Economic Policy, will deliver keynote presentations. Gov. John Baldacci will open the conference and first lady Karen Baldacci will led the hunger initiative at the conference.
The conference will mark the first public presentation of Maine Voices, a project that depicts Mainers talking about poverty in the state.
