Joseph M. O'Donnell has been reappointed by Gov. John Baldacci as Public Administrator of Kennebec County.
Public administrators handle estates and property of those who die and do not leave a will, appoint heirs or have any known kin in Maine to take over the assets.
If an heir is not found, the county's public administrator is required to sell the assets and give the money to the State Treasurer.
O'Donnell has served as Kennebec County's Public Administrator since 1981.
Baldacci reappointed him to a sixth term Oct. 14.
He lives in Monmouth and is a full-time attorney at Goodspeed & O'Donnell.
