The outpouring of support for Maranacook Community High School student Ricky Gibson's wish for lights and bleachers for the school's football field continues.
Gibson, a Maranacook sophomore, was diagnosed with Pontine Glioma, an aggressive tumor in the brain stem, in September. When Make-A-Wish asked Gibson if he wanted anything, he requested lights and bleachers at the Black Bears' field.
With a total cost estimated at around $200,000, Make-A-Wish helped kick start a fundraiser with a $6,000 donation last week.
On Tuesday, Winthrop High School announced that it has donated the gate recents from the Ramblers football game last Friday against Livermore Falls. A check for $1,402 will be present to Gibson's Make-A-Wish fund.
Also last Friday, the Cony High School freshman football team and cheerleaders raised $462 at the Rams' season finale, and fans at the Messalonskee-Lawrence football game contributed $1,485 to the fund.
Also Tuesday, Kents Hill $568 to the Gibson fund.
