Former Massachusetts Gov. Jane Swift will be campaigning for the McCain/Palin ticket in Maine Wednesday.

GOP presidential nominee John McCain tapped her a few weeks ago to head a "truth squad" to defend his running mate, Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, against criticism.

Swift and Josh Tardy, Maine House Republican leader and state vice chair for the McCain/Palin campaign, will hold a press conference in Hermon at 1:30 p.m.

The conference will be held at Pottle's Transportation Inc. at 15 Page Road West.
