OAKLAND-- The Oakland Police Department DARE program in conjunction with the Messalonskee Jobs for Maine Grads will host Halloween hay rides and trick-or-treating Friday night at Williams Elementary School.

The family event, slated to run 6 to 8:30 p.m., is open to children from Oakland and surrounding communities. The hay ride will take children to Messalonskee High School where children can get off for safe trick-or-treating.

Participants are asked to bring a non-perishable item for the Oakland Food Bank.
