A national bus tour that offers free financial advice to consumers is coming to Portland Thursday.
The 'Your Money Bus Tour' will be in Monument Square from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Members of the public are encouraged to bring their financial questions to the bus for a one-on-one meeting with advisors. Participants will receive a tool kit with information on debt reduction and saving.
The tour features independent, registered investment advisors. The tour is sponsored by the National Association of Personal Financial Advisors, the Consumer Education Foundation, Ameritrade Institutional, and Kiplinger's Personal Finance Magazine.
The tour also will sponsor a 7 p.m. symposium "Understanding Debt, Saving and Your Financial Well Being" at the University of Southern Maine's Talbot Lecture Hall, 88 Bedford St.
The tour was created to help Americans deal with the current economic times, to reduce reliance on credit cards and coping with mounting debt.
