SOUTH PORTLAND -- For the next few days, South Portland High School will be part of an on-site evaluation conducted by the Commission on Public Secondary Schools of the New England Association of Schools and Colleges.
Sixteen teachers and school administrators from New England will be touring the school today, tomorrow and Thursday, assessing the facility as a learning institution.
In a prepared release, South Portland High School Principal Jeanne Crocker said, "The purpose of the evaluation visit is to review and determine from an outside professional viewpoint the extent to which the school is meeting the Standards for Accreditation. The members of the visiting committee are contributing their services to the school. The goal of an evaluation visit is to stimulate a continuing drive for improvement in the school."
