Democratic incumbent Paulette Beaudoin defeated challenger Clairma Matherne in the House District 135 race. The seat represents part of Biddeford.

Beaudoin beat Matherne, an independent who recently retired as Biddeford's city clerk, by a vote of 2,532 to 1,504.

Beaudoin, elected in 2006, is known for her efforts to give senior citizens access to cheaper prescription drugs and said she would continue her efforts to help the elderly and others deal with rising costs.

Matherne said she would focus on streamlining government, tax reform and updating the state's energy plan.
