WATERVILLE -- After falling behind for the first time all season, Waterville scored twice early in the second half for a 2-1 victory over Brunswick in the Eastern A girls soccer final Wednesday afternoon.

"My hat's off to the Brunswick Dragons," Waterville coach Ian Wilson said during the post-game presentation. "That's the toughest game we've seen all year, by far and away."

Waterville (17-0-0) will face the Western A champion in the state final at 10 a.m., Saturday at McMann Field in Bath. Brunswick finishes at 15-1-1.

Hilary Champagne scored on a header with 24:28 left in the first half to give Brunswick a 1-0 halftime lead. Waterville tied the score 5:04 into the second half when Taylor Frame poked in a rebound, then put in the game-winner when Laura Tozier sent a cross pass to Paige Gardiner for a goal with 30:34 to play in the game.
