SALEM $ Waynflete School continued its run through the Western Maine Class C boys soccer tournament, upsetting No. 1 Mt. Abram High School 1-0 Wednesday afternoon to claim the regional championship.

The Flyers have won four straight playoff games, matching their win total for the entire regular season.

Waynflete (8-7-3), the No. 11 seed, advanced to face the winner of Madawaska-Washington Academy in the Class C championship game Saturday at Hampden Academy.

"With each game in the playoffs we have gained confidence," Waynflete coach Brandon Salway said. "It is all about confidence and now we have momentum."

Abshir Horor gave the Flyers all the offense they would need, scoring just three minutes and thirty seconds into the game. After a flurry of Waynflete shots, Horor smacked in the game's only goal from 12 yards.
