LaCasse, Bailey among St. Joe's honorees

STANDISH -- Madison Area Memorial High School graduate Jesse LaCasse and Colby College softball coach Dick Bailey will be among six people inducted into the St. Joseph's College Athletic Hall of Fame on Saturday.

LaCasse, a 2003 graduate of St. Joe's, holds the school career record for RBIs (182) and doubles (59) and is second in career batting average (.415), runs (179), hits (214) and home runs (41). The Monks went 112-58 in LaCasse's four years at the school.

Bailey coached softball at St. Joe's for 11 season. He won a program record 244
wins, six conference champions, four NAIA New England Championships and one NAIA Northeast Championship.

Kelly (Wood) Smith, who lives in Oakland, will also be honored Saturday. She was the first St. Joseph's soccer player to earn all-American honors when she was selected as a Naitonal Soccer Coaches Association of America/Umbro All-American in 1993.

They will be joined in the induction class by Carla (Talineto) Savino, Carl Howell and Michael Bolanz.
