AUGUSTA -- Augusta police said alcohol was likely a factor in a crash today at 585 Riverside Drive that sent three people to the hospital.
The call came in at 3 p.m. this afternoon. A man, woman and child were taken to area hospitals. The child was treated and released, but both adults remain hospitalized this evening with serious, but not life-threatening injuries.
Police said a single vehicle with a driver and two passengers rolled over. Two people were taken to the MaineGeneral Medical Center in Augusta, a third to Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston.
Augusta fire and rescue were at the scene along with State Police officers who reconstructed the accident.
Police were still investigating, but said they believe alcohol was involved and charges most likely will be filed in connection with the crash.
