WATERVILLE -- Veterans Day will be celebrated Tuesday with a parade through the downtown that will include veterans, police and fire officials, Cub Scouts, Boys & Girls Scouts and more.
The 10:30 a.m. parade will start at the Bourque-Lanigan American Legion Post 5 on College Avenue and proceed down College Avenue to Main Street, turn east onto Front Street near the former Levine's store and return to the legion parking lot where a ceremony will be held at the U.S. Army tank.
Ernie Paradis, post adjutant for Bourque-Lanigan, will give a brief speech.
Parade participants are asked to line up for the procession between 9 a.m. and 9:30 a.m., said Parade Chairman Bryan Pooler, who also is commander of the Waterville legion.
Parade participants will include the Waterville Senior High School band, R.B. Hall Band, Waterville Elks Lodge, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Waterville Exchange Club, Civil Air Patrol and Dick Willette with an antique vehicle. The Exchange Club will hand out little American flags.
