Recounts start today

The Secretary of State's Office will conduct the first of seven recounts today, starting with Senate District 2, which covers 10 towns in York County.

Election night results showed incumbent Sen. Richard Nass, R-Acton leading Democrat Richard Burns of Berwick by more than 300 votes.

Other recounts scheduled:

•Friday, November 14, 9 a.m.: State Senate District 15 - Lois Snowe-Mello (R) and Deborah Simpson (D)

•Wednesday, November 19, 9 a.m.: Oxford County Commissioner District One - Charleen Chase (D) and Steven Merrill (R)

•Thursday, November 20, 9 a.m.: Oxford County Register of Probate - Tom J. Winsor (R) and Bruce A. Rood (D)

•Friday, November 21, 9 a.m.: State Senate District 19 - Paula Benoit (R) and Seth Goodall (D)

Recounts have yet to be scheduled in House District 21 and House District 105 races.
