The support for Maranacook Community High School sophomore Ricky Gibson's wish to light the Maranacook football field continued Monday when USA Football announced it was making a $3,000 donation of new football equipment to Maranacook.

USA Football ordered $2,000 worth of new football helmets and shoulder pads for Maranacook. USA Football partner Schutt Sports extended an additional $1,000 for the $3,000 total.

"Ricky's incredible team-first request inspired USA Football to promptly support him and his teammates," USA Football Executive Director Scott Hallenbeck said in a statement. "The fact that this young man's passion for football and his friends is his priority at this time in his life speaks to how extradordinary he is."
