Augusta Police work at the scene of a rrobbery at the Gardiner Savings Bank of Maine at the corner of Winthrop and State Streets this morning.

"It looks like it's a male suspect who left with an undisclosed amount of cash," Augusta PoliceSgt. Chris Massey said. "He fled on foot and it looks like he got into a vehicle in this area. We determined that from the canine track we did. He fled east from the bank down Winthrop Street."

He said the suspect is about 5-foot-6-inches tall and 160 pounds. He's wearing blue jeans, a white sweat shirt with a brown corduroy jacket.

Anyone with information about the robbery may call the police department at 626-2370.
