Bonny Eagle quarterback Nate Doehler and Deering running back Jack Heary are among 11 semifinalists named for this year's James J. Fitzpatrick Trophy.
The other semifinalists are Bill Clark, Skowhegan; Joey Eon, Massabesic; John Gilboy, Thornton Academy; Nate Lavallee, Cape Elizabeth; Robert Nelson, Portland; Shawn Smith, Hampden Academy; Justin Staires, Mountain Valley; Nate Warren, Bucksport and Jake Watson, Cheverus.
This is the 38th year of the Fitzpatrick Trophy which is awarded annually to the top senior high school football player in the state.
The top three vote getters in balloting by the state's coaches and media will become finalists for the award.
The Fitzpatrick Banquet will be January 18th at the Holiday Inn Downtown in Portland.
