Cruisers collide in Standish, no injuries

By David Hench Portland Press Herald Staff Writer November 21, 2008 01:21 PM

Two Cumberland County Sheriff's Office cruisers were damaged Thursday night when they collided on Chadbourne Road in Standish at 11 p.m.

The deputies had been responding to a call to backup another deputy when at least one was directed to another call, according to Capt. Don Goulet.

It appears one cruiser was passing the other just as the other cruiser started to make a u-turn to reverse direction leading to the collision, however the crash remains under investigation, Goulet said.

Neither deputy was injured though both cars were damaged badly enough that they cannot be used until they are repaired, he said.
