The New England Patriots Alumni Association donated $1,000 to help make Ricky Gibson's wish for lights and bleachers at the Maranacook Community High School football field a reality.

The $1,000 gift was matched by the NFL.

Gibson, a 15-year old sophomore from Wayne, was diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor in September. When approached by the Make-A-Wish Foundation, Gibson said the only thing he wanted was for lights and bleachers at Maranacook's home field.

Earlier this week, Musco Sports Lighting, an Iowa-based sports lighting company, donated lights and poles. Island Lighting of Massachusetts is doing the installation, which was scheduled to begin Friday. The donation is worth more than $100,000.
