SKOWHEGAN $ The Skowhegan Free Public Library Capital Campaign Project 2012 is nearly $7,000 richer following An Evening with the Stars Spectacular 2008 last weekend.

Librarian Melissa Gaspar said at least 750 people turned out for the fundraising evening of dancing and entertainment, netting $6,948 for library renovations and upgrade.

The fundraiser brings to about $35,000 the amount Library Renovation Committee has raised toward a goal of $2 million over the next four years.

DVD or VHS tapes of the show are available for $25 by calling the library.
