By Colin Hickey Morning Sentinel Staff Writer November 22, 2008 11:31 AM

OAKLAND -- Town officials and Oakland Lions have scheduled a free rabies clinic for Oakland residents from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 6 at the Oakland Fire Station, 11 Fairfield St.

The clinic also is open to non-residents for a $10 fee.

Town office staff will be available at the clinic to issue 2009 dog licenses. All dogs must be licensed prior to Jan. 31 to avoid a $15 late fee regulated by the state. Registration fees are $6 for spayed/neutered dogs and $11 for untreated ones. If registering for the first time, residents should bring a certificate of spaying/neutering.

For more information, call the Town Office at 465-7357.
