Justin Staires scored four touchdowns as Mountain Valley overcame an early deficit to rout Morse 52-7 this afternoon for the Class B state football championship at Fitzpatrick Stadium.

Staires scored on a 17-yard run, an 85-yard kick-off return and a 19-yard run in the first quarter to pace the Falcons to a 20-7 lead. He added a 10-yard scoring run in the third quarter.

It was Mountain Valley's third state championship in five years. The Falcons finished 12-0. Morse, in its first state championship game since 1972, finishes 8-3.
